I love this place! The downstairs `bar` was very cozy, my girlfriend and I were able to relax on a love seat after seeing a show, and enjoy our martinis by candle light. As we were waiting for a table in the trendy downstairs bar we were checked on several times and notified promptly when our table was ready. Appetizer: oysters, A little pricy but served with 3 excellent sauces. Entree: Red Snapper, Duck. Snapper was very good, not dry or over cooked, well seasoned but not overpowering. Duck was excellent with an interesting sauce and great eggplant side dish (I hate eggplant, but this was GOOD!). Dessert: Cold peach, mango? dessert soup with walnut flourette cookies, WOW, tasty, sweet, blended flavors that tease, and please your palette. Chocolate souflette(sp?)with fresh raspberry sauce, not impressive, but I lack a comparisson. Overall, I loved Sonsie. The $9 martinis were a bit much, but the food was reasonably priced. Crowded bar and trendy, so drinks will be a little expensive. It was raining out so it was slightly cramped and a little noisy since the outside seating was inside. Also, we only waited about 20 minutes at 9pm on a Friday night without a reservation. All employees were very kind and helpful. Wine selection was very good, many to choose from, bottle or glass available for many selections. With 2 martinis, half dozen oysters, 2 glasses of wine, 2 desserts, 1 sherry and 1 dessert wine our bill was about $135 including tip.
